Tourist Map of Boston Harbor, MA, 1884
- Author(s):
- Geo. H. Walker & Co.
- Description:
-
Map created for the United States Hotel in 1884, highlighting ferry routes and railway lines to tourist destinations around Boston Harbor. Text boxes advertise the United States Hotel - 'Unequalled by any hotel in Boston.' The map is not to scale; Boston itself is slightly enlarged, and the coastline is not accurate especially around Nahant. The map was scanned and manually georeferenced by staff at UMass Amherst Libraries. Coordinate system: NAD 1983 State Plane Massachusetts Mainland (EPSG 26986).
